Ford Motor updates its Lincoln Navigator and equips it with a 48-inch front display that can be used as a “refuge” for spa lovers and gamers alike.

The new feature comes as the automaker redesigns the exterior and interior of the vehicle for the 2025 model year — and as luxury brand Ford tries to differentiate the Navigator from the competition amid declining sales of the large SUV.

“The all-new Navigator is more than just a vehicle. It can become a second home and a third space, energizing customers in whole new ways on and off the road,” Lincoln President Dianne Craig said in a press release.

Sanctuary mode is part of the Lincoln Rejuvenate feature, which is designed to create a calming environment for the driver. Once activated while parking, the driver's seat automatically slides back, reclines, heats slightly and performs massaging movements.

The mode – in five or ten minute increments – also changes the climate of the vehicle, releases refreshing scents and plays relaxing videos and sounds such as a waterfall. The scents available are Mystic Forest, Ozonic Azur and Violet Cashmere.

The vehicle comes pre-installed with a “Waterfall Meditation” experience developed in collaboration with meditation and sleep app company Calm; two additional themes – “Aurora Borealis” and “Elements” – are included in the purchase price.

“The Navigator is the flagship of the Lincoln brand and represents our ultimate expression of sanctuary,” said Craig.

The large, horizontal screen and rejuvenation modes were first introduced in the 2024 Lincoln Nautilus, but the Navigator's larger interior allowed for further improvements.

If a driver prefers to use media to relax rather than enjoy a spa experience, the front display can be split to play video and gaming apps while the vehicle is parked. Games currently include Asphalt Nitro 2, Angry Birds and Beach Buggy Racing 2.

The eight-passenger SUV continues to be powered by a twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 engine with 440 horsepower and 510 pound-feet of torque, and it also comes standard with the BlueCruise advanced driver assistance system that enables hands-free driving on highways.

Ford announced that pricing for the 2025 Navigator will start at under $100,000, but more precise pricing will be announced closer to the vehicle's launch in spring 2025. Starting prices for current models range from $83,000 to over $114,000.

According to Lincoln, the Navigator's current average transaction price is over $101,300.

Lincoln sales rose 23.4% year-over-year through July, but Navigator sales fell about 21% during that period.

The redesigned Navigator was unveiled in conjunction with the Monterey Car Week and the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance auto show in California.
