The Senator of Maryland, Chris Van Hollen, said on Sunday that his trip to El Salvador with Kilmar Abrego Garcia was about “defending the rights of this man on proper procedure” and not about “defending the man”.
“The Trump government has admitted to court that it was wrongly arrested and wrongly deported,” said Maryland Senator this week in ABC News.
“My mission and my goal is to ensure that we maintain the rule of law, because if we take it away, we endanger it for everyone else,” he added.
Van Hollen also warned of CNN's “State of the Union” that it threatens the constitutional rights of all in America.
At NBCS “Meet the Press”, the Senator said that the Trump government “beats the dishes during speaking”.
When asked whether the United States is in a constitutional crisis, the Senator of Maryland said: “Yes, that's us.”
Van Hollens Sunday exhibition media Blitz comes to El Salvador this week to meet with Abrego Garcia, which was incorrectly deported from Maryland.
When Van Hollen told Abrego Garcia about his meeting, he described him as “a trauma” from his detention.
“He told me about the trauma he had experienced, both in terms of kidnapping and the fact that he was originally sent to Cecot, this is this notorious prison,” said van Hollen about “this week”.

Van Hollen's visit to El Salvador came after his President Nayib Bukele said during a visit to the White House in the early this month that he would not return Abrego Garcia to the United States
Hours later, the Trump administration informed a federal judge that it had no authority to force El Salvador to return Abego Garcia, although a judgment by the US Colonel Court said that the government should “make it easier”.
