President Donald Trump beat the chairman of the Federal Reserve, Jerome Powell and the US Central Bank on Wednesday, and said that they did not have stopped “the problem they caused with inflation” and did “terrible work in the bank regulation” .
Trump delivered an important interest rate at the current level for two hours after the FED decided. It was the first interest decision by Trump's term.
Last week Trump said that he would “ask for interest rates to sink immediately.”
Powell has influenced the importance of the independence of the central bank from the outside, and the newly confirmed finance minister Scott Bessent has repeated this view.
But Trump, who appointed Powell in 2018, but was soon determined with the selection – has questioned the long -term tradition of the Fed independence and stated that he believed that the president should receive a say in interest decisions.
As a presidential candidate in 2024, Trump said that he would not resume Powell if his current term of office as a Fed chairman ends in 2026, although he also said he would not try to end Powell's term at an early stage.
At a press conference on Wednesday afternoon last Wednesday afternoon, Powell defended all questions about Trump and his criticism of the Fed.
This did not block him in front of Trump, whose truth -social post Powell and the Fed blamed for the inflation of the Covid pandemic and hung on the bidges.
Trump said he would reduce the costs and resume a number of his economic agenda, including “Slashing regulation” and “Resuscitation of American production”.
“The FED did terrible work in banking,” wrote Trump in the post office. He said that the Ministry of Finance under Besser “would lead the efforts to reduce unnecessary regulation” and “to trigger lending for all American people and companies”.
The President also accused the Fed to concentrate on the kind of advanced ideals such as climate change and diversity, justice and inclusion that the new administration tried to scrap quickly.
“If the Fed had spent less time for dei, gender -specific ideology, 'green' energy and fake climate change, inflation would never have been a problem,” wrote Trump. “Instead, we suffered from the worst inflation in the history of our country!”
