Senate Democrats have drawn a line in the sand in the budget. Democrats will agree to Trump's power without restrictions.
Samantha handler from Punchbowl News published on X:
Murray on toplines: “We are very close.” This still urges the assurance that Trump admin will issue the funds approving of the legislators.
Topline update from Collins: “I think we're in a dead end.” The “restrictions” to presidential powers, which Dems ask, are usually not carried out in these agreements.
The restrictions of the presidential power have never been necessary because in the past 50 years no president has tried not to spend any congress in addition to Trump.
Chuck Schumer (D-NY) of the Senate Minister said in the Senate:
Donald Trump has opposed the rule of law, he ignored court resolutions, he even imagined as a king, while all of his billionaire friends spread like grasshoppers in the government and bring public services that endanger tens of million.
While Elon Musk has in court in the Oval Office and meets with heads of state, Head Start programs and health centers have switched off their funds.
Donald Trump preaches about corruption and fraud while freeing the government of its independent wax dogs and going through the social security of people – and even their private tax and health data – without guardrails, without check.
All of this chaos is design.
All of this lawlessness has a goal.
Everything we saw from Donald Trump and the Republicans last month has a final in mind: undermining the rule of law to put more money into the pockets of billionaires like Elon Musk.
In addition to the tax cuts for the rich, state financing expires within 24 days, and there is no agreement on a legislative template to keep the government open.
The Democrats of the Senate slow down the pace of the Senate and grind activities to a standstill.
They do everything as difficult as possible for the Republicans of the Senate, and if the Republicans do not rise on Trump, it is impossible to see that Democrats agree to something through the budget or the government's financing.
