Singapore will go to the surveys on May 3, after President Thaman Shanmugaratnam dissolved the parliament of the city state on Tuesday.

According to the state's election department, the nomination day takes place on April 23.

Potential candidates will submit their election papers on the nomination day, whereupon there will be campaigns and a “cooling day” before the election day for nine days.

This will be the 14th parliamentary elections in Singapore since independence and Lawrence Wong as Prime Minister of Lawrence Wong. Wong took over Lee Hsien Loong, who had headed the government in Singapore since 2004.

According to the local media outlet -cna, the ruling action party of the people is questioned for all 97 parliamentary seats. The voters who deal with this election include living costs, jobs and unemployment, CNA reported, citing a survey in January.

The Pap has ruled Singapore since its independence in 1965. In the last parliamentary elections in 2020, the party won 61.24% of the votes and conquered 83 of the 93 parliamentary seats available.

The choice takes place in a time of increased global turbulence when US President Donald Trump increases with high tariffs for friends and enemies alike.

With regard to tariffs, Wong said in a ministerial declaration on April 8: “We are very disappointed with the US parade, especially in view of the deep and long -term friendship between our two countries.”

Singapore made his monetary policy easier for the second time in a row on Monday, since the city state does not see any growth this year as a possibility after publishing an expected GDP expansion of 3.8% for the first quarter.
