Majority of Republicans present indicators that they wish to do away with Trump

Polls now show that a majority of Republicans and all voters think Donald Trump is too old and would like to see him leave the party.

The YouGov poll found: “In a YouGov poll conducted between July 25 and 29, 59 percent of Republicans surveyed said they would prefer a president under the age of 75. Trump celebrated his 78th birthday in June. Forty percent said they had no preference, and just 2 percent said they would prefer a president over the age of 75.”

Previously, an AP poll had shown that 57 percent of Americans wanted Trump to drop out of the race.

The vast majority of Americans and members of his own party clearly want to get rid of Trump. The Republicans have had to reckon with the same candidate for three presidential elections in a row.

The Republicans had a chance. Voters in the primaries had other options. They could have voted for Nikki Haley or Ron DeSantis, but they chose to stay loyal to Trump because, like the former president, they thought there would be a rematch with Joe Biden.

Now that they are facing Vice President Harris, even Republicans are beginning to express doubts, saying that Trump may not be able to match Kamala Harris in terms of energy and stamina.

Donald Trump is now the old man in the race and almost 60% of Republicans would like to have a younger candidate.
