Kamala Harris needs to defeat Trump within the debate
Vice President Kamala Harris wants to unsettle Trump in the debate and destroy the facade behind which he hides.
NBC News reported on the preparations for the Harris debate:
A source told NBC News that while Harris' team is preparing to speak on a variety of issues, the campaign sees the optics of the debate as extremely important. To that end, the source said, Harris and her team are focused on figuring out how to annoy Trump.
to unsettle him.
In that sense, the source said, it will be less about substance and more about presenting Harris as a woman who is not afraid and does not cower, who stands up to Trump and holds him accountable.
Her campaign also hopes to “remind people what it was like during Donald Trump’s term,” the source said.
Donald Trump can't stand being challenged. If Harris challenges Trump during the debate, he will lose. With all the focus on Joe Biden at the last presidential debate, many people have forgotten how bad Donald Trump was and how he alienated voters. Trump lacked the energy he had years ago and by the end of the debate all he was talking about was golf. Trump has neither the stamina nor the focus to stay on task for an entire presidential debate.
If Harris gets on Trump’s nerves, which is almost certain, Trump loses in the polls and increasingly desperate, she will be able to remind voters why they threw him out of office in 2020.
Trump will not tolerate a woman opposing him.
Harris' campaign is right about one thing. Presidential debates are not about politics. Presidential debates are about entertainment and giving voters a chance to see the candidates side by side.
Presidential debates create perceptions. has the chance to create the impression that she is a president-elect while simultaneously reinforcing the impression that Trump is unfit for the office.
