Colin Allred destroyed Ted Cruz on the Senate debate in Texas on January sixth

Democrat Colin Allred showed in the Texas Senate debate why Senator Ted Cruz is in danger of losing his job.

Allred said of Cruz and 1/6:

I must say, you cannot be for the mob on January 6th and for the officers. You can't do that. And it's not funny. Because you are a threat to democracy. I was in the Senate and the House when we went through the votes. I remember when you objected to the results in Arizona. All of you at home may remember where you were and what you were doing on January 6th.

I know where I was and I know where he was. I remember when they told us to reach under our seats for those gas masks. I didn't know because they used tear gas in the Rotunda. The officers locked all the doors. We locked the doors. The President passes by to deliver the State of the Union with furniture we normally use to store papers.

I was texting my wife, Allie, who was seven months pregnant with our son, Cameron, and at home with our son, Jordan, who was not yet two. Whatever happens, I love you. I took off my suit jacket and was ready to defend the floor of the house from the mob. At the same time that this mob came, Senator Cruz was hiding in a storage closet, having spread lies about the election across the country, having been the initiator of the attempt to overturn that election.

And that's okay. I don't want him to get hurt by the crowd. I really don't. This choice is his responsibility. You can't just be patriotic when your side wins. If, for the first time in 250 years, our project, this shared American project, fails to achieve a peaceful transfer of power, those responsible must be held accountable.

That's why Liz Cheney endorsed me, got involved in this campaign and told Texans everywhere: Don't put Ted Cruz back in a position of authority, because he did it once, he will do it again.

Everything Allred said was true. Ted Cruz worked behind the scenes to find a way to overturn the election results using the courts. The mob at the Capitol listened to Cruz's rhetoric, and when they breached the Capitol, video shows them doing what Ted Cruz wanted.

Ted Cruz was involved in the attempt to overthrow the government.

Republicans warn that Cruz is in trouble in the state. Senator Cruz has never been popular in Texas, but he has continued to win because of the state's strong red majority. Those days may be coming to an end as Allred has wreaked havoc on Cruz in a way never seen in his previous campaigns.
