US Finance Minister Scott Bessent, US trade representative Jamieson Greer, Chinese international sales representative and Vice Minister of Trade Li Chengang, and Chinese Vice Prime Minister for Lifeng, are preparing for the discussion on the day of a bilateral meeting between the USA and China in Geneva, Switzerland, May 10, 2025.

On Monday, China accused the United States of undermining the preliminary trade agreement of the two countries after the United States published an industry warning against the use of Chinese chips.

Beijing “demanded” that the Trump administration “correct” its mistakes and describes the instructions of the US trade department “discriminatory” and “market distortion”.

“China calls on the United States to correct its wrong practices immediately and to stop discriminatory measures against China,” a spokesman for the Chinese Ministry of Commerce told a reporter according to a Google translation of the comments.

“If the United States insisted on its own way and continues to damage China's interests considerably, China will take determined measures to protect its legitimate rights and interests,” said the spokesman.
