Amazon Relieves some employees in his communication and sustainability units, a manager who monitors the departments announced on Wednesday.
In a note to the employees respected by CNBC, Drew Herdener, Amazon's Chef of Public Relations, wrote that the company eliminates some jobs in these groups as part of a more comprehensive review in the “current orgdesign” of divisions.
“When we examined our current orga design and chose the shifts described above, we identified some roles that were too closely depicted or introduced unnecessary layers in which we could not solve the challenge by flattening the structure or could move the workload “. “To tackle this and do the right thing for the business, we remove a small number of roles in communication and sustainability. This is a difficult decision that my management team and I do not take lightly.”
Bloomberg previously reported on the job cuts.
Hapsener continued that the company could resume some employees for roles on lower levels, “and in others we will remove other areas within the org.” Amazon will offer financial support, continuous services and support in the employment of jobs, said Hinderer.
Amazon reduced more than 27,000 jobs throughout the company in 2022 and 2023 as part of the efforts of CEO Andy Jassy. It had smaller rounds of jobs in 2024 and lasted this year. The company continued to reject some of its more experimental or unprofitable initiatives, including a “attempt before buying the purchase of the purchase service” and a quick stationary delivery program.
