Dubai, United Arab Emirate-Die government, has to “delete entire agencies in a cost and efficiency drive,” said Elon Musk, co-founder of Tech Millionaire and Tesla co-founder, will go beyond the term of the current president.
“I think we have to delete entire agencies instead of leaving part of them back … it's like leaving a weed,” said Musk. “If you do not remove the roots of the weeds, it is easy for the weeds to grow back. But if you remove the roots of the weed, do not prevent weeds from ever returning, but it makes it more difficult.”
Musk, who also founded SpaceX and has the social media platform X, made the comments and spoke as part of a conversation organized by the artificial secret service minister of the United Arab Emirates.
“So we really have to delete entire agencies, many of them,” said Musk. “And that does not mean that a new administration does not lead to an increase in bureaucracy over the course of the bureaucracy, but it will emerge from a much lower baseline. It is certainly a step in the right direction.”
“Nothing is forever,” he added, “but I think we can significantly strengthen the foundations of the United States.”
Trump appointed the engineer and tech entrepreneur born in South Africa as a “special employee” and head of a new state efficiency ministry or DOGE under the administration. Musk has reduced his goals of reducing the efficiency of the government and the reduction in bureaucracy and regulations, loudly and on Thursday that such efforts could be reduced by the federal government by $ 1 trillion by 2026.
Musk has already adopted an ax to the US Agency for International Development, the U.S. government's international humanitarian and development arm by essentially solving the majority of its employees and freezing their funds. The sudden change affects millions of people around the world, especially in poorer countries.
The Trump administration said at the beginning of February that USAIS as an independent agency and will be relocated to the Foreign Ministry, a change that would require the consent of the congress.
