Joe Biden's farewell speech did not disappoint. The president didn't play it safe and only talked about his achievements and his love for America.
Biden used his platform to issue a warning about the new Trump administration.
The President said:
This is dangerous, and this is a dangerous concentration of power in the hands of a few super-rich people. And the dangerous consequences if their abuse of power goes unchecked.
Today, an oligarchy of extreme wealth, power and influence is taking shape in America, threatening literally our entire democracy, fundamental rights and freedoms.
And a fair chance for everyone to get ahead. We see the consequences all over America. And we've seen it before. More than a century ago, the American people stood up to the robber barons of the day and broke up the trusts.
They didn't punish the rich. Just made the rich pay according to the rules everyone else had to. Workers want rights to earn their fair share. You know, they agreed to the deal. And it helped us pave the way to building the largest middle class, the wealthiest century any nation in the world has ever seen.
And we have to do that again.

Biden later warned about the rise of the tech industrial complex:
President Eisenhower spoke of the dangers of the military-industrial complex.
He warned us then of the possibility of a catastrophic rise of misguided power. End of offer, six days. As I am six decades later, I remain equally concerned about the possible rise of a technology industrial complex. Mmm. It could also pose a real danger to our country. Americans are being buried under an avalanche of misinformation and disinformation that enables abuses of power.
The free press is crumbling. Editors disappear. Social media is giving up on fact checking. The truth is stifled by lies spread for power and profit. We need to hold the social platform accountable. To protect our children, our families and our democracy itself from abuse of power.
Biden on the tech industrial complex:
This was a powerful speech that sent a clear warning to the country.
Trump is an oligarch.
Like all oligarchs, he and his new tech billionaire friends want the power to enrich themselves at their expense.
America has beaten back the oligarchs before, and the nation can do it again.
Biden sees that the next great fight for our nation will not be the fight of Republicans against Democrats, but of oligarchs against everyone else.
Biden gets it, and hopefully the rest of the country does too.
