Republicans go full throttle on support for California after wildfires

It is a concept that was central to the founding of our current constitutional system of government. The federal government should stand by states in times of need. This aid is the reason states send tax dollars to Washington, DC. California is the 49th state least dependent on federal funding, and they're sending that six highest amount of tax money to the federal government.
Considering how much California contributes to the federal coffers, Republicans should have no problem providing needed wildfire disaster relief.
However, Trump's party wants to punish the blue state for not supporting them in the last election.
Trump blames California for the fires on social media: “The fires in LA are still raging. The incompetent politicians have no idea how to delete them.” Thousands of magnificent homes have disappeared and many more will soon be lost. There is death everywhere. This is one of the worst disasters in our country's history. They just can't put out the fires. What’s wrong with them?”
Vice President-elect JD Vance lied on Fox News that the reservoirs were empty.
The big hint that Republicans want to punish California came from the second-ranking Republican in the Senate, Sen. John Barrasso (R-WY).
