Some news from the Senate: BERNIE SANDERS says he remains the top Democrat on the Senate Health Panel after serving as its chairman for the past two years.

He also takes on a role on the Finance Board, confirming a plan we agreed to last month.https://t.co/Wi50rsu7A4 pic.twitter.com/NuWwh6zLlh

Sanders remains on the HELP Committee and will have a seat on the Senate Finance Committee. Bernie Sanders

was a fierce fighter in the Senate for improving health care, saving pensions and protecting Social Security and Medicare.

The coming Trump Administration and congressional Republicans are seeking cuts to Medicare, Medicaid and changes to Social Security for future generations to finance their planned tax cuts for the wealthy and corporations.

Democrats will need all of their most experienced advocates in key positions because it will be a fight. Since Republicans took back the House of Representatives in 2022, they have been eyeing cuts to popular programs.

Senator Sanders is one of the powerful advocates Democrats will need to fend off the threat.
