Trump threatens to sue the Lincoln Mission over an advert
The Lincoln Project took out an ad at Mar-a-Lago pointing out that Trump's campaign team had let him down. Now the former president is threatening to sue.
Check out the ad:
A narrator speaks directly to Trump
:
Uh, Donald, you were wrong. Suzy Wiles, Chris LaCivita, Tony the Pollster, you were wrong. President Joe Biden just announced he's dropping out of the 2024 presidential race. They told you Biden would never give up, that you should speak up. Spend all this time, all this money, so much money, focusing on Biden and how old he is.
Now it's Harris, she's much younger than you, quicker on her feet, better than Biden on camera. You were wrong, but you were very wrong. You were wrong that Vance would help you. You know he's terrible. It's sad, Donald. They spend more time trying to keep you under control than trying to win.
Spending even more time trying to keep you from seeing what they're spending. What they're doing behind your back. Sad. Maybe you're losing control, Donald. Maybe you're the only one who could run your campaign. If Susie and Chris were so wrong about Biden, what else have they messed up?
The ad was another attempt to manipulate and unsettle Trump, and according to the Lincoln Project's statement to PoliticusUSA, it worked: “The Lincoln Project received a cease-and-desist letter for an ad currently running on Fox News at Mar-a-Lago. As it turns out, these losers can't stand being laughed at or mocked, and LaCivita and Wiles apparently didn't understand that our ad states the obvious: Chris and Susie totally screwed up Trump's campaign and chose the weirdest vice presidential candidate ever for him – even crazier than Sarah Palin.”
Trump loses the election and with it what is left of his sanity. Instead of campaigning and talking to voters, Trump is threatening legal action over political television advertising. Donald Trump will not sue. He probably doesn't have the money to afford another lawsuit.
The cease-and-desist letter makes clear what Trump has in mind: He is not interested in winning the election in November.
