President declares US China commerce talks

President Donald Trump said on Thursday that trade officers from the USA and China will soon meet in a place to be found.

Trump announced the upcoming talks after completing a long call with the Chinese President Xi Jinping.

The “very good” call between the two guides lasted about 90 minutes and “almost exclusively” focused on the trade, Trump said about the social truth.

It “led to a very positive conclusion for both countries,” wrote Trump.

The United States will be represented at the upcoming session of finance Minister Scott Bessent, Minister of Commerce Howard Lutnick and the US sales representative Jamieson Greer, said Trump.

Details about Trump's call with XI – their second this year – and the meeting were sparse.

Trump said the call “led to a very positive conclusion for both countries” and added: “There should be no questions about the complexity of products for rare earths anymore.”

He also noted that he and XI were not discussing any affairs in relation to Russia, Ukraine or Iran.

The US President added that XI invited him and first Lady Melania Trump to visit China, “and I replied.”

The Foreign Ministry of Beijing and China's embassy in the USA said on Thursday that Trump had requested the call to XI.

The shares opened higher on Thursday morning, as the investors hoped that Trump-Xi's reputation would break the current patient situation in the trade talks of the two countries. However, the profits quickly gushed when dealers were waiting for details from this call.

In 2024, the dead end between the two economic superpower-related trade relationships almost $ 600 billion is deliberately charged Trump's wider tariff regime, which already has a real effect.

Trump was reportedly ready to speak to XI, since the trade relationships between the two countries continue to fray in the past week.

While Washington and Beijing temporarily reduced the goods of the other after constructive discussions in Switzerland last month, this preliminary agreement has been threatened since then.

The Trump administration has publicly accused Beijing of having slowly turned away from having turned away from the negotiations in Geneva to export more critical minerals.

China has now expressed deep frustration about a recent decision to impose new restrictions on the Chinese student visa. It also accused the Trump administration to undermine the recent commercial progress by issuing an industry warning against the use of Chinese semiconductors.

The Trump management has also imposed additional export restrictions on chips. The White House claims that the measures are necessary to protect national security, but Beijing sees it as law enforcement.

The conversation on Thursday was only the second time this year that the two guides held a single call. Trump and XI previously spoke on January 17 before the US President's inauguration.

Before the recent call, Trump XI praised in a social media contribution that also revealed his frustration.

“I like President Xi from China, always have and will always do it, but he is very hard and extremely difficult to make with !!!” Trump wrote early Wednesday morning.

China was a main goal of Trump's efforts, steep, one -sided tariffs for the declared goal of re -calibrating America's trade relationships with the rest of the world.

In April, Trump had collected ceiling tariffs to Chinese imports of up to 145% when he temporarily lowered the tasks in most other countries to 10%. Beijing increased the tariffs to US goods to 125%.

The tariffs effectively led to a trading embargo. But this logjam seemed to be postponed in Geneva after talks, which both sides described as successful and productive.
