The all-new true crime special, The Toolbox Killer, hits Peacock on Thursday, September 23rd, followed by its premiere on Oxygen on Sunday, October 3rd.
The two-hour event gives viewers a behind-the-scenes look at the serial killer Lawrence Bittaker‘s psyche. Known as “The Toolbox Killer,” Bittaker and his partner committed heinous crimes in 1979, including a deadly rampage Roy Norris.
Bittaker was silent about his crimes for 40 years until he met a criminologist Laura brand. Over the course of five years, Brand recorded her many conversations with Bittaker while speaking about his methods and motives from on death row.
The Toolbox Killer is Bittaker’s story in his own haunting words. It’s a true mindhunter as we hear what exactly Bittaker was thinking during his series of murders.
“I’ve never had sadistic behavior,” says Bittaker coolly in the teaser trailer.
