Issa Rae & Yvonne Orji get emotional as they wrap up the ultimate season of Insecure

It looks like the fifth and final season of the HBO-written series “Insecure” will premier soon after the show’s two main characters filmed their final scenes for the show.

Both Issa Rae and Yvonne Orji used social media to share that it was the last time they shot for the show and it was definitely an emotional moment that drove the tears.

Yvonne finished her final scene first and shared a video of the emotional speech she gave to the cast and crew on set. She said, “Last night we said goodbye not only to Molly but also to our fearless leader @the_a_prentice and blessed us by God. We cried by a river, hugged each other in a group, ate cake and popped several bottles. I will fucking miss these beautiful people. This wasn’t just a show with some co-stars that I had to work with. This was a family that I could grow with, learn from and live with. “

The next day Issa finished her last scene for the series and said, “I wrapped up a show that I’ve been writing for 8 years and making for 6 years, surrounded by a select family of incredible creatives. One day I’ll be able to articulate properly what each and every person who helped create this show meant to me and how they changed me for the better. “

As previously reported, Issa confirmed that season five would be the show’s final season at the end of the year. At that time she said: “Apprentice” [Penny] and I am so grateful that HBO believed our show from the start and believed in us to see our vision through to the end. We always intended to tell this story over five seasons, but we wouldn’t have made it this far without the tremendous support from our audience. I feel blessed beyond measure to bring our characters’ stories to an end, at least on screen. “
