Two companies under the direction of the billionaire Doge Chief Elon Musk – SpaceX and Tesla -Have submitted letters to submit lobbying to the US trade representative for the Trump management tariff policy.

But the two companies had different messages for US trade representatives Jamieson Greer.

The electric vehicle manufacturer Tesla warned of the negative effects on the end result of tariffs and the country tariffs raised by other countries on the retaliation measure for these tariffs.

SpaceX complained that the operating costs for the Starlink -Internet satellite service are increased by trading barriers abroad, while foreign competitors in the United States are not exposed to such costs.

The letters come as Musk the so -called Department of Government Efficiency, the efforts to reduce the Federal Government's expenditure, and supervises the head of the employees at the behest of President Donald Trump.

At the same time, Trump puts on hard tariffs in China, Mexico and Canada, with China and Canada being shot back with retaliation tariffs.

The letters are two of more than 700 from the office of the sales representative in response to an invitation to public comments to “unfair trading practices by other countries”. The answers are published in a public docket.

Tesla encouraged him to take him into account in his unsigned letter to Greer “to consider the downstream effects of certain proposed measures to combat unfair trade practices”.

“While Tesla acknowledges and supports the importance of fair trade, the evaluation of potential measures to remedy unfair trade should also take into account exports from the United States,” says the letter, which was submitted by Teslas Associate General Counsel Miriam Eqab.

“Us exporters are naturally exposed to disproportionate effects when other countries react to US trade actions.”

Tesla stated: “Past US special tariffs (1) thus increased the costs for Tesla for vehicles produced in the USA and (2) increases the costs for the same vehicles when exporting from the USA, which leads to less competitive international market for US manufacturers.”

“UsTR should investigate how these pitfalls are avoided in future measures,” says the letter.

In his letter to Greer, SpaceX said that “in every country that the US government should appeal to support the continued US management in the space area, it is exposed to a number of regulatory complexities and trading barriers. “

In the letter it was found that the company found foreign governments for access to spectrum and import duties for its Starlink satellite -internal equipment and other fees that “must increase the costs that work significantly in these countries – artificially” significantly “.

“The import duties paid in a handful of countries are a significant increase in costs for Starlink products in these countries, although the United States essentially do not have any obligations for similar foreign products that are imported to the United States to serve customers here,” wrote MAT Dunn, SpaceXs of high -ranking director of global business and government.

“As President Trump found with other sectors, this is a significant disadvantage for US companies,” wrote Dunn.

Tesla and SpaceX did not immediately answer a request for a comment from CNBC to their letters.
