Amazon'S Zoox Robotaxi Unit has published a voluntary recall of his software for the second time in a month after a recent crash in San Francisco.

On May 8, a non -occupied Zoox Robotaxi revolved at low speed when it was hit by an electric scooter after braking after braking. The person on the scooter rejected medical care after suffering minor injuries due to the collision, said Zoox.

“The zoox vehicle was stopped at the time of contact,” said the company in a blog post. “The e-scooterist fell to the ground right next to the vehicle. The Robotaxi then began to move and stopped after completing the curve, but did not get in touch with the e-scooterist.”

Zoox said it submitted a voluntary recall report by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration on Thursday.

A ZOOX spokesman said the message should be published at the NHTSA website early next week. The recall affected 270 vehicles, said the spokesman.

The NHTSA said in a statement that it received the recall note and the agency “advises the street users to be careful near vehicles, since the drivers incorrectly predict the travel path of a cyclist or scooter driver or come to an unexpected stop.”

If an autonomous vehicle moves further after contact with a road user endangered nearby, it risks that damage or further damage is caused. In the AV industry, General Motors-Backed cruise left the Robotaxi business after a collision in which one of his vehicles injured a pedestrian who had been hit by a man driven by humans and was then chased up by the AV cruise.

Zoox's incident in May is about two weeks after the company has been announced a separate voluntary software call back after a recently crashed crash. In this incident, a non -occupied Zoox Robotaxi collided with a passenger vehicle, which led to minor damage to both vehicles.

The company spent a software recall for 270 of its robotaxis to fix a defect with its automated driving system, which could lead to the movement of another car inaccurate and increases the “risk of a crash”.

Amazon acquired the Zoox for more than $ 1 billion in 2020 and at the time announced that the deal would contribute to the fact that the company of the self-driving technology company “put vision for autonomous bicycle shells into reality”.

While Zoox is in a test and development phase with its AVS on public roads in the USA alphabet Waymo is already working in Phoenix, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Austin, Texas, Commercial, Driverless Travel Services in Atlanta.

Tesla It will be promising next month its long -graded robotaxis in Austin and plans to expand to San Francisco, Los Angeles and San Antonio, Texas.
