There was a tug of war between House and the Senate Republican to deal with the legislative template in order to expand Trump's tax cuts for the rich. The Republicans of the Senate wanted to divide the priorities into several legislative regulations. Spokesman Mike Johnson and Trump triggered the Senate and forced them.
The Senate received the law for the house and rewritten huge pieces of it.
The biggest change was that the Republicans of the Senate made the Medicaid cuts even more extreme.
Senator Thom Tillis (R-NC) basically ended the Senate about the Medicaid changes, and although the Senate is likely to be said goodbye today or tomorrow, this does not mean that a smooth sailing and the blue sky stand in front of us.
In fact, the opposite seems to be true.
Jake Sherman from Punchbowl News published on X:
New – Johnson right now “I enforced my colleagues from the Senate to, please, please, please, as close to the house product as possible, I was very consistent from the start.” Johnson is still looking for changes to the Senate law to bring it closer to the house.
…
The Senate Act is on the ground. The people of the Senate say that they do not change the calculation noticeably. Johnson is still looking for hours before the last passage.
…
The Republicans of Republicans of Republicans of Republicans of Republicans from the Republicans of the Republicans of the Republicans can say goodbye to the chamber this week. I'm not saying that you won't do it. But mods, conservatives, leadership etc. Everyone believes that this will be extremely difficult.
The house law was only adopted by a single voice. If one of the dozen moderate decides to give them up, the invoice will drop. What the Republicans have finally learned from House is that a person who is incorrect by Trump is targeted, but a group of overloaders gives them strength in numbers.
