Zendaya has reportedly negotiated a new deal with HBO

The Los Angeles Times broke news of Zendaya’s reported earnings, adding to the reports that the Golden Globe and Emmy-winning actor has negotiated a new deal with HBO. According to the outlet, Zendaya’s new payday amount per Euphoria episode will reportedly make her “one of the highest-paid television actresses in Hollywood.”

Additionally, the outlet speculates that Zendaya could be the youngest actor “to land such a deal.”

Zendaya’s previous awards wins and awards

Zendaya’s amazing work as a young actress undoubtedly contributed to this important milestone in her career. In 2020, the actor made Emmy history as the youngest actor to win Best Actress in a Drama Series. Zendaya was just 24 years old. In 2022, she won another award for Best Lead Actress in a Drama Series. Both awards are for her portrayal of the main character Rue in Euphoria.

Additionally, both awards made her the only black woman to “win two Emmy Awards for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama,” as reported by the Los Angeles Times.

In January 2023, Zendaya won a Golden Globe for Best Television Actor in a Drama Series, as previously reported by The Shade Room. Although the actress was not present at the ceremony to accept her award, she took to Instagram to share a special thank you message with fans.

As if all of those award wins weren’t enough for Zendaya’s role in Euphoria, the 26-year-old also made history as “the youngest person to ever receive an Emmy nomination as a producer at age 25.” The star is said to have executive produced the second season of the HBO series, according to GQ.

Zendaya’s role as Rue and what fans can expect from future episodes

Zendaya plays Rue Bennett in Euphoria, “a tortured high school student who struggles with substance abuse following the death of her father,” according to the Los Angeles Times. The series also follows the mishaps and fascinating lives of her high school friends and acquaintances – some of whom also battle drug addiction, control romantic relationships, and find themselves as young adults.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Zendaya shared what she hopes to see from future episodes of the show.

I think it will be exciting to explore the characters outside of high school. I want to see how Rue looks on her sobriety journey, how messy that could look. But also with all the characters, in the sense that they’re trying to figure out what they want to do with their lives when high school is over and what kind of people they want to be…
