Why TikToker Emira D’Spain Did not Rush Her Gender Affirmation Surgical procedure
As a kid, watching Victoria’s Secret models strut down the famous pink runway every fall, “I remember thinking, ‘Oh my god, one day I wish I could be up there,'” she recalled itself. “It was definitely something I’ve always wanted. And I got it.”
She received that special honor last year when she teamed up with the lingerie brand and stripped naked for their Valentine’s Day campaign.
When asked if she had any concerns about working with a company that hasn’t always been known for its inclusivity, she replied, “I was much more excited to be able to make history and help all brands evolve.”
Because Emira brings with her more than just dewy skin and a love of thigh-high stockings.
“When I worked in marketing, something I was so focused on was helping bring LGBTQ creators, people of color creators, into brands,” she explained, “and 99.9 percent of the time, they were.” receptive to it. Because they don’t. I don’t know how to do that, but when they get the chance, they say, ‘Oh, of course we’re going to work on it.’”
