Why LGBTQ Small Enterprise House owners Have Problem Discovering Employees
LGBTQ small business owners are having a hard time getting back into business before the pandemic.
Just over 20% have a hard time finding employees, according to a new survey by CNBC + Acorns and NGLCC Small Business Owner Financial Health. The shortage of labor could hamper their efforts.
Of those facing a recruitment crisis, more than 42% blame unemployment benefits.
LGBTQ business people aren’t the only ones who can’t attract employees. In fact, the number of all small business owners having problems is higher overall. According to the National Federation of Independent Businesses, 48% reported vacancies in May.
There is an ongoing debate over whether government benefits, like the additional $ 300 in unemployment, keep people out of work. The latest job report for May reflected this, according to some economists.
This is because 25 states are abolishing federal increased unemployment benefits before September 6, the official expiration date. These states hope to encourage workers to return to work.
On the flip side, those who support the continued $ 300 benefit argue that the move will do more harm than good.
