Vanessa Bryant & the Altobelli, Chester & Mauser households settle lawsuit towards the helicopter firm concerned within the Kobe Bryant crash

Vanessa Bryant, along with the other families affected by the helicopter crash that killed Kobe Bryant, Gianna Bryant, Alyssa Altobelli, John Altobelli, Keri Altobelli, Payton Chester, Sarah Chester, Christina Mauser and pilot Ara Zobayan, have settled the lawsuit against the helicopter company that was involved in operating the helicopter after the crash.

According to ABC 7, Vanessa and the Altobelli, Chester & Mauser families have reached a confidential agreement with the company that operated the helicopter. Documents say that the families have submitted a “joint notice of settlement and a joint request for the investigation deadlines to be lifted”.

The documents also stated: “Plaintiff and defendant jointly report that they have agreed to settle their claims in the above lawsuit.” The terms of the settlement have been announced and the settlement is pending court approval.

Vanessa filed a lawsuit against the company last year, and Ara Zobayan’s estate was named as a defendant in the lawsuit for wrongful death.

Documents filed by Vanessa’s Legal Department indicate that all of the affected families were part of the settlement.

As previously reported, the lawsuit alleged that the helicopter should never have been brought into the danger lane and also alleged that Island Express was only allowed to fly under visual flight rules, but the conditions on the day of the crash were not conducive to such flying. As mentioned, the fog on the day of the crash was extremely low and the pilot found himself in blinding conditions.

It wasn’t the only lawsuit filed in response to the fatal helicopter crash. Vanessa Bryant also filed a lawsuit in response to alleged news that Sheriff’s Department MPs took photos at the crash site and later shared them. A judge had already ruled in March that Vanessa can share the names of the MPs who allegedly took the photos.
