The lady who captured the viral video of Sergeant Jonathan Pentland assaulting a younger black man speaks concerning the incident (video)

Last week there was a viral video from Sgt. Jonathan Pentland where he could be seen confronting a young black man named Deandre for being in the “wrong neighborhood”. Many people came to the young man’s defense when they ordered the US Army to take action against Pentland after he was seen in the disturbing video pushing and yelling at the young man.

Now the young woman who recorded the viral video shares what happened from her point of view. As well as how she feels after the viral moment and what consequences Pentland should have for the incident.

Shadae McCallum joined the ladies of “The Real” and announced that she did not know the young man or Pentland. She remembered the incident and said that both she and the young man in the neighborhood had left and he went before her. At some point the man was talking to a woman who was standing in her front yard. She said that the woman initiated the conversation. The woman’s mother-in-law finally interfered and told the young man to leave the area.

According to Shadae, the woman’s mother-in-law called Pentland to get involved and he went on to tell the young man that he had to leave the area. However, Shadae said she felt compelled to record the incident after Pentland pushed the young man.

“At that moment, I focused on making sure the young man was protected,” Shadae said. “I wanted to make sure everything Jonathan did was recorded.”

Shadae went on to explain that the consequences of the incident were traumatic for her because there were negative comments about what else she could have done at that moment.

However, when it comes to the consequences, Pentland should have to apologize to Deandre, and she also mentioned community service and anger management courses.

As we previously reported, Pentland has since been charged with assault and has also been suspended from his duties at Fort Jackson.
