Shaquil Barrett’s 2-year-old daughter from Tampa Bay fatally drowns

Tampa Bay Buccaneers linebacker Shaquil Barrett’s The two-year-old daughter died Sunday morning after drowning in a pool. A statement from the Tampa Police Department said Barrett’s daughter Arrayah fell into the pool sometime before 9:30 a.m. Sunday, per PEOPLE.

Arrayah was taken to a nearby hospital but did not survive the incident. The authorities do not currently consider the girl’s death to be suspicious. Instead, they have described the case as a “purely coincidental and tragic incident.”

The Tampa Bay Times reports that the little girl was the youngest of four children the 30-year-old NFL star shares with his wife and high school friend Jordanna.

Buccaneer former Tampa Bay QB Tom Brady offer their condolences

The Buccaneers released an official statement on Twitter after news of Arrayah’s death broke, calling it heartbreaking “to all members of the Buccaneers family.”

“Our thoughts and prayers are with Shaq, Jordanna and the entire Barrett family at this incredibly difficult time,” the statement said. “While no words can offer true comfort at a time like this, we offer them our support and love as they begin to process this very profound loss of their beloved Arrayah.”

Recently retired Tampa Bay QB Tom Brady, who played with Barrett for several seasons, also offered his condolences.

The seven-time Super Bowl champ posted a beaming photo of Barrett on his Instagram Story, wearing his No. 58 jersey as he poses on a couch with his family, who all also wear Bucs clothes.

“The Bradys love you,” Brady wrote over the picture, complete with prayer emojis.

Arrayah had just celebrated her second birthday on April 19, according to an Instagram post

Arraya had recently celebrated her second birthday on April 19, and Barrett had posted an adorable tribute to the toddler at the time.

“Happy 2nd birthday to my sweet girl. So sweet and cute. You made our family complete. Love you baby girl😘😘,” he wrote alongside a photo of Arrayah smiling in a pink tutu.

Meanwhile, an investigation into Aarayah’s death continues.

According to CNN, Barrett, who has played nine seasons in the National Football League, entered the league as an undrafted free agent from Colorado State.

He played his first five seasons with the Denver Broncos, while the upcoming 2023-2024 season will be his fifth as a Buccaneer.

In January, former NFL running back Peyton Hills was in critical condition after saving his children from drowning, The Shade Room reported.

The 36-year-old, who played seven seasons in the NFL from 2008 to 2014, played for the Broncos, Browns, Chiefs and Giants after being drafted by Denver from Arkansas.
