Senator John Fetterman strongly condemns hate after Tree of Life ruling
Pennsylvania Senator John Fetterman released a statement welcoming the guilty verdict of the perpetrator of the Pittsburgh Tree of Life shooting. The shooting, which took place over four years ago, was an act of hate and anti-Semitism that claimed the lives of several victims.
Senator Fetterman said in a statement to PoliticusUSA, “Gisele and I remember the victims who lost their lives during the horrific Tree of Life massacre in Pittsburgh over four years ago. Today a jury found the shooter guilty of all charges.” This is a step towards justice for such a hateful, heinous and anti-Semitic attack. We all must continue to stand in solidarity with the Pennsylvania Jewish community against the evil of anti-Semitism.”
Eleven people were killed and six others injured in the shooting at the Tree of Life. Among the victims were several Holocaust survivors.
PoliticusUSA’s Sarah Jones visited the Tree of Life synagogue and discussed her experiences in a podcast:
