Ron DeSantis might be part of Trump as Republican wrongdoer as Texas Sheriff recommends felony costs over migrant kidnapping
A Texas sheriff has recommended that the district attorney file criminal charges over Ron DeSantis’ plan to kidnap migrants and send them to “blue areas.”
The Miami Herald reported:
According to a statement to the Miami Herald, the Bexar County Sheriff has closed the criminal investigation into the on-site operation that allegedly lured migrants onto the flights with false promises of jobs and opportunities. “The case submitted involves both felonies and misdemeanor offenses of unlawful restraint,” the statement said. “The case is currently being examined by the public prosecutor. As soon as an update is available, it will be made available to the public.”
….
Turning the case over to prosecutors is a critical part of a criminal investigation that could trap some of DeSantis’ top employees. The migrant resettlement program was overseen by DeSantis’ chief of staff James Uthmeier and security officer Larry Keefe.
Documents related to other migrant flights arranged by the state of Florida show that DeSantis may have broken federal laws by lying to migrants about the help they would receive if they participated in the fighting.
Gov. DeSantis was behind a plan to lure migrants onto planes and then fly them to blue areas, where they were dumped without food or assistance.
Donald Trump has had a terrible legal day, and thanks to a Texas sheriff, law could soon be coming for Ron DeSantis if the San Antonio-area district attorney agrees.
