NBA honors Terrence Clarke with an honor draft decide after a deadly crash
The NBA recognized the excellence of college basketball Terrence Clarke with an emotional gesture in the annual design.
During the event, which was held at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn on Thursday, July 29, NBA commissioner said Adam silver paused before announcing the 15th pick and selected Terrence with an honorary pick. Terrence was only 19 years old when he died in April after a car accident in Los Angeles. A month before the accident, he’d entered the NBA draft after completing his freshman season at the University of Kentucky.
“His exceptional talent, dedication and dedication to the game deserve to be recognized on this stage,” said Adam from the podium. “I am honored to announce that the next NBA selection in the 2021 NBA draft is Terrence Clarke of the University of Kentucky.”
The commissioner welcomed Terrence’s mother and two siblings on stage, with the athlete’s mother in particular becoming quite emotional. Adam told Terrence’s loved ones that the late player “will forever be part of the NBA family”.
