Mitch McConnell activates Fox Information about Tucker Carlson’s 1/6 lies
Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) sided with Capitol Police and criticized Fox News for Tucker Carlson’s lie-filled 1/6 propaganda.
Video:
McConnell, when asked if he thought it was a mistake for Speaker McCarthy to give Tucker Carlson 1/6 security footage of the Capitol, said: “My concern is how it was portrayed, which is another issue. Obviously, I think the chief of the Capitol Police is correctly describing what most of us witnessed firsthand on January 6th, so that’s my reaction to that. It was a mistake by Fox News to portray this in a way that is completely at odds with what our chief law enforcement officer is thinking here at the Capitol.”
Mitch McConnell held up a letter from the Capitol Police Chief calling Carlson’s segment “offensive and misleading.”

What we’re witnessing right now is Fox News being torn apart. Fox News was the media unifier on the right. On one side is MAGA, which features McCarthy, Marjorie Taylor Greene, Matt Gaetz, Jim Jordan, and many others. They are opposed by a growing number of Republican senators and non-MAGA Republicans.
Fox News itself depends on its MAGA viewers. It seems a contingency that even conservative media will fragment. Rupert Murdoch is so concerned that a bystander rebellion will spoil his bottom line that he allows Carlson to make domestic propaganda about a terrorist attack.
McConnell doesn’t get a parade for picking the right side, but it’s a sign the storm clouds are only growing for the Republican Party and Fox News.
