Danger! is again without a permanent host.
Less than 24 hours after apologizing for previous sexist comments on a podcast, Mike Richards has announced that he is stepping down as the new host of the quiz show.
In a statement addressed to the staff on the long-running show that E! On the August 20 news, Richards wrote, “I pained me that these past incidents and comments have cast such a shadow over Jeopardy! We want to start a new chapter. As I mentioned last week, I was deeply honored to have been asked to host the syndicated show and was excited about the opportunity to expand my role. “
“However, in the last few days it has become clear that moving forward as hosting for our fans would be too much of a distraction and not the right move for the show,” he continued. “As such, I will resign as the host with immediate effect. As a result, we will cease production today.”
