Martha Stewart asks “Pretend Physician” Ellen Pompeo for recommendation after harm

Feel better, Martha Stewart!

The lifestyle expert took to Instagram on June 30 to share a picture of her foot and leg wrapped in medical bandages. “Not the prettiest photo or the happiest backstory,” she wrote. “Bad timing all around. Torn my Achilles tendon some time ago.

Stewart then informed her 1.4 million followers that she was undergoing a three-hour surgery performed by NYU Langone Health’s orthopedic surgeon Dr. John Kennedy in New York earlier this week to “repair the damage” and for her to recover from the procedure.

“Home rest,” she added. “I was ordered to lie still with my leg up for two weeks. Then two to four weeks of crutches. Then maybe a little more normal activity.”

How exactly was Stewart injured? “Most of these breaks occur while dancing or exercising,” said the 79-year-old star. “Mine was caused by a surprise step into a hole in the dark when I got out of the car. Thank you NYU for trying to get me back.”
