Legendary sports activities announcer Bob Costas blows up MAGA Fringe, saying the nation wants a powerful conservative get together
Bob Costas worked on the Olympics on the NBC network for decades. He appeared on Chris Cuomo’s CNN show Thursday night to talk about the upcoming games.
The broadcaster informed the host that the games should be postponed for another year due to the low vaccination rates in Japan. The former NBC host stated: “If you wanted to show up forget about the sport, but all over the world, with a petri dish for a boost, variants and everything else, how about bringing together a large number of people from 200 different countries with different levels of health and everything else , different vaccinations, bring them together. “
Cuomo then asked Costas for his opinion on the current state of politics in the country. The sender replied: “When you have a sizable percentage of the land that is utterly antifacts and believes wild, crazy things and is a personality cult, that has nothing to do with principle. That has nothing to do with conservative ideas. “
Costas continued:
“This country needs a strong Republican Party so that moderate Republicans have a place to go, a place to recognize. But also, no matter who is in office, even if you voted for them, Joe Biden needs thoughtful opposition. As if a Republican were in office, that person needs thoughtful opposition. Plus there are excesses on the left, excesses of pc and wakefulness and everything else, and you need a thoughtful answer to that instead of the nonsense we get in the MAGA world. “
Bob Costas, who many know as Olympic journalism royalty, is calling for the Olympics to be pushed to 2022.
Regardless, he believes the International Olympic Committee will defy public opinion and heath experts and go forward: “Its going to happen no matter what we think.” pic.twitter.com/NvxJpzUNYJ

While Costas specialized in sports rather than news, he could still be asked to provide a thoughtful answer. And he made a pretty decent point on CNN last night.
