Kevin McCarthy thanks Biden as he misses the debt restrict
In a moment that marked the height of the delusions, Kevin McCarthy tried to pretend that he and Biden were equals and that he hadn’t exactly taken the time to come to terms with the debt ceiling agreement.

McCarthy said:
Nobody ever thought that we would be where we are today. The President said he wouldn’t negotiate with us for 97 days, he wouldn’t even allow us to talk after the bill passed, but it’s only in the last two weeks that we’ve really been able to sit down and communicate.
And I want to thank the presidential team he put together, very professional, very smart. Very strong beliefs that are different from ours and I think at the end of the day people can work together to pass it together in the House and Senate and sign it and send it to the President.
Biden did not negotiate the debt limit. He negotiated a two-year budget contract. McCarthy thanked the President’s team for their professionalism while they gave him nothing but a few crumbs that he tries to sell as victories.
For Republicans, it was never about getting a real deal. Republicans tried to create a recession to defeat Biden in 2024 and failed.
Kevin McCarthy thanked Biden for the beating he just suffered. The narrator sells a fantasy straight out of the Trump playbook where down equals up and defeat is really victory.
