In consequence, we’re bullish on this mega-cap inventory and cautious on this healthcare inventory
Every weekday, the CNBC Investing Club hosts a “Morning Meeting” live stream with Jim Cramer at 10:20 am ET. Here’s a recap of Monday’s key moments. Earnings and Inflation Watch J&J Strong prospects for Meta 1. Earnings and Inflation US stocks edged higher on Monday, with the Dow jumping over 150 points and recovering after a difficult week for major Wall Street indicators. We look forward to second quarter results on Friday, starting with financials like club holding Wells Fargo (WFC). Data on the consumer price index (CPI) will be released on Wednesday, which will give the market a better view of the inflation situation. Overall, there is a lot of uncertainty for the US economy as inflation remains high and the Federal Reserve mulls further tightening of monetary policy to cool a resilient labor market. 2. Check out J&J. We await final arguments in a talc lawsuit against Johnson & Johnson (JNJ) brought by a 24-year-old in California who alleges that asbestos in J&J’s talc products caused his cancer. Potential legal risks the pharma giant faces could affect its stock price. The company has faced a number of lawsuits in recent years. J&J has claimed that its talc products contain no asbestos and are non-carcinogenic. 3. Good outlook for Meta Meta Platforms (META) Threads, a Twitter rival, has reported over 100 million user logins since announcing its launch late last week. Evercore analysts expect the new product could bring in $8 billion in annual sales within the next two years, a 5% increase from the estimate. Shares of the social media giant are up 134% year-to-date amid a strong cycle for mega-cap tech. (Jim Cramer’s Charitable Trust consists of WFC, META, JNJ. For a full list of stocks click here.)
