Over 70 years later, Cinderella is still timeless!
The stars of the new Cinderella film, which will be released on Amazon Prime Video on Friday, September 3, will be featured exclusively during E! News’ Daily Pop Today why the reinterpretation is a particularly modern retelling of the popular Disney classic. Camila cabello raved about her title role that “fans will love that she is a modern woman”.
“She has dreams and she has ambitions and she stays true to herself and her voice and what makes her happy,” continued the Grammy nominee on September 1st. “I think it reflects today’s women.”
Idina Menzel‘s portrayal of the “bad stepmother” also has an updated twist. “She had dreams of her own and the men in her life didn’t support her,” Menzel admitted, “so she projects that onto Cinderella.”
The Tony winner also had some advice for the IRL Cinderella, Cabello himself. “I didn’t stay tuned, I think maybe that’s why I approach things that way,” said Menzel. “For me, it’s always trying to embrace the moment. That’s the only thing I would give Camila to, just try to have fun.”
