Former Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull criticizes Rupert Murdoch for Fox’s involvement in 1/6 riot and vaccine hesitation
While politics in Australia are certainly different from the United States, Malcolm Turnbull would still be considered a conservative. He also knows his compatriot Rupert Murdoch, whom he has known since 1974.
The former prime minister recently appeared on Mehdi Hasan’s show to talk about Murdoch and how his news channel is currently poisoning America.
The host asked: “You mentioned dangerous, you mentioned devastating. So let me ask you right away. Do you believe Fox and the Murdochs, in creating a “crazy market” you have called in the past, by not only promoting election lies and white supremacy propaganda – but also conspiracies against mask and vaccines – do they have? Blood on their hands? “
Turnbull replied: “Well, they certainly contributed to the shedding of blood. January 6th could not have happened without promoting and pumping out the Big Election Lie, as was the case with Fox News. “
The former Australian Prime Minister continued:
“He knows the vaccines are working. But he makes billions of dollars on a news channel, a news platform, Fox News, that promotes and enables all of this vaccine hesitation. I mean, surely – surely you would think that you have enough affection for your viewers and not encourage them to follow a course of action that is likely to lead to their illness and death. “
Murdoch had a strange incident in the last year or so. He wasn’t a huge fan of Donald Trump and clearly devastated the former president by calling Arizona early on election night. At the same time, he doesn’t seem interested in mastering his on-air talent.
