President Joe Biden will speak to White House reporters Thursday afternoon to discuss a landmark infrastructure deal to repair the country’s highways, bridges and waterways.
The address came just hours after Biden announced that the White House had reached an agreement with a bipartisan group of senators over infrastructure, though key details of the payment for the massive corporation are uncertain.
The framework will include $ 579 billion in new spending, the White House said. About $ 312 billion will go into transport, of which $ 109 billion will go into roads, bridges and other major projects, $ 66 billion into passenger and freight transport, and $ 49 billion into local public transport.
