Because the disaster deepens, Putin disappears from public view and Russia seems to be getting ready for a navy coup

Something is afoot in Russia as mercenary leader Yevgeny Prigozhin claims his troops are advancing in Russia, while Putin has not been seen in public and the Russian leadership appears to be preparing for a military coup.

Prigozhin accused Russian troops of attacking his troops as tensions between the mercenaries and the Putin regime had become apparent. Prigozhin claimed his troops were invading the Russian city of Rostov and that Putin appeared to be preparing for a military coup.

NBC News’ Raf Sanchez reported: “At this point there is no clear evidence that a column of his troops is actually advancing towards Rostov.” But the Kremlin is taking no chances. This is a government that appears to be preparing for a military coup.” pic.twitter.com/CC2lA5Xfdh

Sanchez said: “Prigozhin is a man with a history of hyperbole. There is currently no solid evidence that a column of his troops is actually advancing towards Rostov. But the Kremlin is taking no chances. This is a government apparently preparing for a military coup. Russian state media report that the government has tightened security in Moscow. And in other cities. ”

The former CIA chief of operations in Russia said we cannot rule out that Putin is in trouble.

Hall said, “The fact that we can see from the Kremlin shows that they at least believe that could happen.” There are armored personnel carriers driving through Moscow and the FSB says they are arresting Prigozhin. All of this shows that there is great concern in Moscow that this could happen. However, Putin still has a lot of pressure to stop Prigozhin, but I don’t think we can rule out the possibility that Putin is in serious trouble any longer.”

Putin has since disappeared publicly.

Former Ambassador Michael McFaul tweeted:

Putin’s absence from the public in this crisis is striking.

President Biden has been briefed on what is happening in Russia as both the US and Ukraine take it seriously.

Russia is in crisis, and the crisis was caused by Putin’s invasion of Ukraine. It is not known whether or not there will be a full-scale coup. What is known, however, is that most Russians either do not approve or do not want the continuation of this invasion of Ukraine. The Russians are stuck.

Putin’s authoritarian leadership has never been weaker, and right now he is vulnerable.

No matter how this scenario unfolds, Putin has already suffered great damage.
