Authorities bond yields rise when buyers watch company earnings

US Treasury bond yields rose Tuesday morning as investors watched the latest corporate earnings.

The benchmark 10-year Treasury note yield rose to 1.619% at 4 a.m. ET. The yield on the 30-year government bond rose to 2.315%. The returns move inversely to the prices.

Government bond yields fell to 1.53% last week despite strong economic data.

The focus, however, is on corporate earnings this week as companies like streaming giant Netflix, along with pharmaceutical company Johnson & Johnson and consumer goods company Procter & Gamble, are due to report on Tuesday.

No major economic data will be released on Tuesday.

Auctions are conducted on 52-week invoices valued at $ 34 billion and 42-day invoices valued at $ 40 billion.
