Austin Peay State soccer participant Jeremiah Collins has died aged 18
The Austin Peay State University community mourns the tragic loss of one of their student athletes.

Collins, a Louisville, Kentucky, native, speeded while exiting a Tennessee freeway and his pickup truck overturned several times before coming to rest in a patch of grass, the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department said in a press release, according to the Associated Press. He was taken to a hospital, where his death was pronounced. The police also said that there were no signs of impairment at the scene of the accident.
“We are all devastated and heartbroken at the loss of Jeremiah Collins.” Scotty Walden, APSU’s chief football coach, said in a statement released by the college’s athletics program. “Jeremiah was an outstanding young man who brought incredible attitude and energy every day. We join the Collins family in mourning their tragic loss and lift them up in prayer.”
