Alec Baldwin accuses prosecutors of ‘easy error of regulation’ in Rust case.

In a statement to E! News, spokesman for the New Mexico First District Attorney Heath Brewer said, “Another day, another filing by Alec Baldwin and his attorneys to distract from the gross negligence and utter disregard for safety on the Rust film set that led to the death of Halyna Hutchins.”

Brewer continued, “In accordance with good legal practice, the District Attorney and Special Prosecutor will review all requests — including those made to the media — before they are served on the prosecution. However, the focus of the prosecution and special prosecutor will always be on ensuring that justice is done and that everyone – even celebrities with offbeat lawyers – is held accountable under the law.”

Like Baldwin, Gutierrez-Reed has claimed Hutchin’s death was a “tragic accident.” As her attorney said in a Jan. 19 statement to E! News, “She did not commit negligent manslaughter. These allegations are the result of a very flawed investigation and an inaccurate understanding of the full facts. We intend to bring the full truth to light and believe that Hannah will be acquitted of wrongdoing by a jury.”
