Alumni Association

The Value of Membership

MEMBERSHIP IN OUR ALUMNI ASSOCIATION has value. I am surprised when fellow UMass Amherst graduates don’t recognize this fact. Our Association provides information, opportunity, and connection. It’s a resource that can enrich our personal and professional lives, while increasing the value of our degrees and the educational experience of generations to come.

I speak from personal experience. As a student I greatly benefited from opportunities to network with alumni. It was through an alumni connection that I was offered an internship, which put me on the road to my current profession. As a member, I continue to realize benefits from networking, as well as attend social and athletic events and volunteering my time to help strengthen the Alumni Association and UMass Amherst.

The Alumni Association has something for everyone. Whether you are a recent graduate or a recent retiree, there are programs and services to meet your needs and interests. Information is only a mouse-click away on UMassAlumni.com. The most up-to-date news and event listings can also be e-mailed to you directly in @UMASS, the monthly e-newsletter.

Need more proof? Look at the dollars and cents involved in membership. An individual membership is $40 per year, but the savings and discounts available make this a worthwhile investment. Membership dues also support scholarships awarded each year to worthy students and grants to student organizations that enrich campus life.

A strong Alumni Association contributes to a strong university. This past fall, Microsoft Corporation named UMass Amherst its first Microsoft IT Showcase School in the nation due to its innovative use of information technology in advancing teaching and learning. As UMass Amherst continues to achieve national recognition as a leading public research university, Alumni Association members can share in these accomplishments because you are a part of the support system that makes growth possible.

Membership gets you in, gets you connected, and gets you deals. Go to UMassAlumni.com for more information or call 800-456-UMASS. Whatever it is you value—join today because the Alumni Association values you.
