Boston Harbor lighthouse
Altogether, the 34 Boston Harbor Islands encompass about 1,600 acres, a figure that fluctuates as the tide rises and falls. Many of the islands remain minimally developed, beckoning to outdoor enthusiasts with acres of plant life, bird habitat, shell beaches, tidal pools and other natural attractions.
