A Host of Opportunities




	Chancellor’s Personal Hosts Andrea Vigeant ’05, Meagan McMullen ’04 and Beth Mrazik ’04 at a Hillside event.

MEMBERS OF THE STUDENT ALUMNI RELATIONS SOCIETY (STARS) have taken advantage of a new leadership opportunity on campus as the Chancellor’s Personal Hosts. Twenty students chosen as hosts have become fixtures at events hosted by the Chancellor and Mrs. Lombardi.

“Being a Chancellor’s Personal Host has given me an opportunity to see the other side of UMass Amherst. I have met people through this position and now have connections all over the state that may be helpful after I graduate,” says Andrea Vigeant ’05. “I am being exposed to many new things and have opportunities to do things that a ‘normal’ college student would not.”

The role of the Chancellor’s Personal Hosts is to personally welcome alumni and guests and to make them feel comfortable while visiting campus. Hosts’ duties include answering questions, ushering guests to their seats, interacting with alumni and sharing stories about student life at UMass Amherst.
