50 Ways Never to Leave Your Alma Mater

Chancellor John Lombardi
Chancellor John V. Lombardi met with Flordia friends and alumni at club events in January.
WHETHER YOU LIVE IN MASSACHUSETTS or have relocated out of state, the association’s regional alumni clubs bring a piece of UMass Amherst into your backyard. With more than 50 regional clubs, you never have to lose touch with the campus. In addition to providing networking and social opportunities, regional clubs engage in legislative advocacy, alumni mentoring for young alumni, and student recruitment activities.

In the past several months, individual clubs have planned programs to attract talented students to UMass Amherst. For example, the Worcester and Boston clubs hosted welcome parties for incoming students; the Chicago Club held a New England Clam Bake for current and prospective students; and the New York and New Jersey clubs hosted a reception for prospective students. Many club leaders also volunteered to represent the university at college fairs in their communities. The alumni association and regional alumni clubs work together to help raise the national and global reputation of UMass Amherst among prospective students and parents. To find the alumni club in your area, visit www.UMassAlumni.com

“It has been a great pleasure to meet today’s students and their parents … listening to them share their dreams. Student recruitment activities are a wonderful way to meet more members of the UMass Amherst family.” – Charlie Roddy ’73 Worcester Alumni Club Leader
