SOUVENIR: library memories

students reading in library
A COMPANY OF THE WISEST, wittiest men:” Sure, Ralph Waldo Emerson (who forgot to mention all the wise and witty women) was referring to the wisdom and wit of the authors of the books in a library, not necessarily of their readers. But we think these earnest young scholars hitting the books in the Old Chapel Library in 1907, look, well, maybe not witty, but certainly wise. For more on the importance of books in our lives, click on Carved Runes In a Clearing in left navigation bar; and for an appreciation of our own library, click on North 40.
