Sam Scott ’93 curated the exhibit
“To the Ends of the Earth, Painting the Polar Landscape” opening
in November. It features over 40 works by such noted 18th-,
19th-, and early 20th-century painters as Rockwell Kent and
Frederic Edwin Church. The exhibit portrays a landscape beyond
the influence of humankind, which, given recent environmental
developments in the polar regions, takes on a nostalgic tone.
“To the Ends of the Earth” runs through March 2009. |
